Welcome to QSL
QSL is a group in SecondLife® (SL) started by Piet Hut (Pema Pera in SL) and Katherine Prawl (SL name Kat Lemieux) to provide a meeting place in SecondLife for members of two Qwaq forums led by Piet, MICA and WoK. Another purpose was to enlarge the groups by incorporating people from SecondLife.
If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Kat or Piet with your RL and SL names, email address, URL to your website (if any) and your reason for wishing to join us.
Qwaq-SL Liaison in SecondLife®
As the name implies, the Qwaq-SL Liaison group (QSL for short) is a meeting point for members from both virtual worlds, Qwaq and SL (SecondLife).
Associated Qwaq Forums
Qwaq is another virtual world, mostly used by enterprise and academic users for meetings and collaborations. Qwaq offers easy to use tools for sharing documents, videos and presentations in a shared space, but is not a full-blown graphically rich envirornment with an economy like SecondLife.
MICA Project Forum
The Meta Institute for Computational Astrophysics (MICA) lives in a virtual space created by Qwaq. It was launched in October 2007, with a group of 20 astrophysicists and others interested in astrophysics.
WoK Project Forum
WaysofKnowing.net (or WoK) was established in February 2006 to enable Piet and Steven to conduct a sustained exploration of a few core issues. These center on the nature and relative merits of scientific, contemplative and other "ways of knowing," as well as the benefits they may offer to society. WoK will also provide access to a wide range of other scientific, intellectual and experiential perspectives on this subject, plus relevant news and source materials. See the "Play as Being" blog for the most up-to-date information.
